Day 01: Flight to reach Paro and drive to Thimphu : On arrival at Paro airport, a represent from the tour company will receive the entourage and will be driven to Thimpu-the capital city of Bhutan. This is a two and a half hours drive not on usual autobahn but on hill road with serpentine bends offering gorgeous views of road travel. Visit Memorial Chorten, National Library, Handicrafts Emporium, Bhutanese textiles and Painting School etc. Overnight in Thimphu
Day 02: After breakfast sightseeing of Thimphu includes visiting Simtokha Dzong the oldest fortress of Bhutan, Tashichho Dzong the main Secretariat Building that houses king’s throne and state monastic body. Tashichho Dzong built in 1641 by the political and religious unifier of Bhutan. Later visit the Pangri Zampa monastery. Other places of interest in Thimphu are National Library, Textile and Folk Heritage museum and King’s memorial Chorten. Late afternoon we drive back to Paro for overnight stay.
Day 03: Tour of Paro, visit Drugyal Dzong the ruined fortress sixteen kilometers distant from Paro town with magnificent views of Mount Chomolhari “Abode of the Goddess Chomo”. Return journey takes us to Drugyal Dzong where we visit a traditional Bhutanese farm house. Later visit the National Museum Ta-Dzong the Watch Tower, Paro Rinchen Pong Dzong the administrative seat of the district of Paro housing state monastic community of hundreds of monks. Alternately, those with good pair of legs can hike to Takstang Monastery famously known as the Tigers Nest, perched on a rocky cliff ridge with 800m drop overlooking the Paro Valley (4 hrs round trip). Day 04: Transfer to the airport for return flight to Kathmandu. Arrival and follow programs as on given package itinerary.
