Annapurna Panorama Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Grade Moderate: This involves treks of three to week long on maintained trails. This type of trek includes day excursions to higher elevations, for which it’s advisable to have some previous hill- walking experience. On these treks, we generally achieve an altitude between 900m to 3000m.

Poon Hill Trek - Ghorapani

Poon hill trek is about hiking to 3210 meters vantage point with an overnight stay at Ghorapani which itself altitudes at 2875 meters. So, logically the ascent is not much to worry and senior citizens, family trekking with kids and first timers can have magnificent time enjoying the trek. Moreover, the element of choice counts as Poon hill can be reached from various direction following the Annapurna circuit and Annapurna base camp trails. However, common is the single direct trails via Naya pool, Tikhedhunga, Ulleri, Ghorapani, Poon Hill, Tadapani, Ghandrunk or Shauli Bazzar. The same trail can be done vise versa but it is harder in term of uphill hikes that can cost an extra day.

Day 01 KATHMANDU – POKHARA (910m/2986ft.)
After Breakfast 6 hrs Drive to Pokhara about 200km by Tourist Bus through good scenery of River and countryside. Check in to the Hotel. Free afternoon on your own. Take a walk around Lakeside or you can do boating at fewa lake. O/n Hotel.
(You can fly to Pokhara takes 25 minutes Flight)

 

 

Day 02. POKHARA – TIRKHE DHUNGA (1577m)

After Breakfast an hour drive to Nayapul (50km). Then start your Trek about 20 minutes to Birethati, a prosperous town beside the Modi River. Again heading your Trek to hille, then trek to tirkhe dughga. This day you will Trek about 3-4hrs. O/n at Guest House.

 

Day 03 TIRKHE DHUNGA – GHOREPANI (2855m)
After Breakfast start your Trek crosses a stream (Bhurungdi Khola) on a suspension bridge. Trek to a large Magar Village called Ulleri. Above the village where the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields, through rhododendron and oak forests then reach to Nangethanti. You can have lunch or short rest . Again Trek to Ghorepani through the forest. This day you will trek about 5-6 hrs. O/n at guest House.

 

Day 04 GHOREPANI – Poon Hill (3210m) – TADAPANI (2630m)
Wake up early morning then at 4am an hour hike to Poonhill (3195m) with the help of your stick & flash light. Where you can enjoy with Panoramic Mountain Views & beautiful Sunrise View from your Eye lavel. Then after an hour Trek down to Ghorepani and have Breakfast then start your 6 hrs Trek to Tadapani. Tadapani means, ?Far water?. Water supply in this village from long distance.The trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali. We descend to reach Banthanti, before winding our way to Tadapani. On/t hotel

 

Day 05 TADAPANI – GHANDRUK (1950m)
Trek start to Ghandruk after the Breakfast. After 4hrs descent Trek to Big Gurung Village called Ghandruk. it is the most interesting tribal Gurung village in Nepal, which provides Gorkha soldiers. It has excellent close -up views of Annapurna South, Machhapurchhe and Himachuli. There is an ACAP office that provides information about its different activities. O/n at guest House.

 

Day 06 GHANDRUK – POKHARA (1910m)
Today is the last day of this Trek. After Breakfast Trek about 3-4hrs then take Bus back to Pokhara.
O/n at Hotel.

 

Day 07: Pokhara to Kathmandu
Free day in Kathmandu

 

Day 08: Departure
